White (Ph.D. University of Chicago) is professor emeritus of philosophy emeritus of philosophy and religion at the American University. He served as a visiting lecturer and fellow at Oxford University’s Oxford Center for Hindu Studies. For example, he is the author of Sri Hit Harivamsa’s Caurasi Pad and of Ramakrishna’s Americans. He also co-wrote The Religious Quest and Joseph Campbell: The Life and Times of a Mythologist.
