The Bhagavad Gita (/ˌbʌɡəvəd ˈɡiːtɑː, – tə/; Sanskrit: भगवद् गीता, IAST: bhagavad-gītā/bɦɐɡɐʋɐd ɡiːtäː/, lit. “The Melody of God”),[1] regularly alluded to as the Gita, is a 700-section Hindu sacred writing that is a piece of the epic Mahabharata (parts 23–40 of Bhishma Parva), usually dated to the second century BCE.
The Gita is set in a story system of an exchange between Pandava ruler Arjuna and his guide and charioteer Krishna. Toward the beginning of the Dharma Yudhha (equitable war) among Pandavas and Kauravas, Arjuna is loaded up with moral difficulty and hopelessness about the viciousness and passing the war will cause in the fight against his own kin.[2] He thinks about whether he ought to disavow and looks for Krishna’s advice, whose answers and talk establish the Bhagavad Gita. Krishna guides Arjuna to “satisfy his Kshatriya (warrior) obligation to maintain the Dharma” through “caring action”.[web 1][3][note 1] The Krishna–Arjuna exchanges spread a wide scope of otherworldly subjects, addressing moral situations and philosophical issues that go a long ways past the war Arjuna faces.
